You are required to have some knowledge of the pen-tool for this tutorial. You should be at least familiar with making curves and how CTRL & ALT effect the anchors/lines.
- Always sharpen and do any extra editing before you begin cutting out.
- Hair strands fall downwards except around areas of tension. AoT are basically areas where the sitemodel is holding her hair back or where a ponytail/hat/headband are. These exceptions can cause “baby hairs” to fly upwards, but otherwise even if they’re flipped, all strands should point downwards.
- Follow the general outline of the hair, but fake the hair strands. When we say this we mean, make the hair more textured/interesting by adding strands of hair that may not fit in with the original shape of the head/hair, but follow the basic outline of the hair that is in the photo.
- Use the clone stamp tool to clone and place hair color over the ends of the faked hair to make it blend in a realistic way.
